We are so excited to introduce one of our brightest Britelings! Tamekah works on our BX (Briteling Experience) Team as a Benefits Manager.

Tamekah has graciously let us pick her brain to find out a little more about her and her life at Eventbrite.

What has been your favorite project to work on at Eventbrite? I’m working on one right now it’s still top secret so I can’t share… BUT one that I LOVED was Hosting BarkFest in the SF office. It was one of the cutest days of the year. We had puppy training and then an agility obstacle course. It was such a good time.

What were you doing before Eventbrite, and what inspired you to join the team? Before EB I spent the last 10 years at Aon in consulting, great firm! I left because I wanted to expand my knowledge and skill set in the people and culture space and what better way than to go in-house at a small/mid-market company that prides itself on culture?

What’s your favorite part of your Briteland? My co-workers and our BX barkling Luna, she’s the cutest!

Have you gotten to travel to any of the other Britelands? What was it like? Nope, but please put me on the list.

What gets you most excited about the company’s future? There’s potential here to do so much both internally and externally and there are some really dope people that work here. A PhD heads our L&D, our Site Director is an awesome burlesque host, our Creative Director published a flawless coffee table book with his parents, who shoot wildlife photography and our CPOs assistant is a DJ. You’ll find inspiration somewhere.

What’s the best live experience you’ve ever been to? I use to run my own events company and my first ever event at 19-ish was a Wu-Tang show. I didn’t know their music but one of my favorites DJs told me they were a great act and I’d for sure make my money back. I did that show and needless to say, members of the group are now my friends in real life. (Primarily because they “hazed” me for not knowing their music in the beginning, but hey, give a girl a break)

What was 10 year old you like? Chubby-cheeked, super smart and obsessed with ice cream cake (the Jamaican kind) and plantains.

What is your go-to karaoke song? I don’t have a song, but call me your local Beyonce, I can slay Salt-N-Peppa, and The Roots; You Got Me.
