There’s no denying it: all online marketplaces can provide opportunities for fraudsters and malicious actors, as well as opportunities for misuse and technical errors. Eventbrite is growing at a massive rate, and the Risk Analytics team is responsible for keeping losses low. Last year we processed over $3.5B in transactions and over 60M paid tickets, that’s a huge exposure, and we’re charged with keeping it secure.

We are analysts, operations specialists, data scientists and engineers, with different quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Our varied experiences help us look at the same problems sets in different ways to extract real insight. Our job is to protect our customers and Eventbrite from fraud and malicious acts, while ensuring our technology and process is seamless and delightful.

Internally, you will work with our Finance, Risk, Sales, and the Trust & Safety teams to increase our win rates while also providing timely support to customer facing teams. Externally, you will work closely with our payment processors and credit card networks to enhance our chargeback operations, stay abreast of trends in the industry, and ultimately increase our efficiency.

You will provide necessary documentation, details, and evidence in a timely manner to ensure all recoverable chargebacks are addressed and develop chargeback policies and processes to identify and minimise disputes. You will also investigate individual transactions using internal policies and review methodologies to determine if the transactions are fraudulent or not. In addition you will collaborate with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists and engineering to improve our fraud prevention mechanisms, processes and tools and solve complex dispute cases by gathering and distilling web, financial, and behavioural data into actionable findings.

About our Cork Office

Eventbrite's Cork office is a listed, 19th century building that used to be home to a national bank. The high ceilings and huge windows create light and space for the busy, growing team and, at every turn, there is something to discover - from the office library to the real-life vault in the basement!

Having started out as a customer services base, the Cork office is now home to a host of different teams and has a distinct energy as Britelings across different functions collaborate and support each other. The kitchen is full of tasty snacks and you can grab lunch in the break-out area which features a specially commissioned piece of art by a local Cork artist.

Yoga classes on the top floor, a herb garden in the kitchen and meeting rooms named after local landmarks add to the culture of the office - one of pride, growth and fun!
