THE CHALLENGE

The Finance team is seeking to add an inquisitive analytical partner to support the Corporate Finance team in headcount planning. Our goal is to provide truth-based, insightful, and action-oriented analysis for decision-making at every level. Example projects can range from forecasting headcount driven expenses, supporting teams to optimize headcount, and evaluating projects to improve operational efficiency.


This successful individual will partner with senior leaders, accurately forecast several corporate line items and provide analysis and insight into overall company performance. You need to be successful at building complex operating models and enabling the best resource allocation decisions for Eventbrite.


THE TEAM

The Finance team partners with the CEO, CFO, and senior company leaders to identify risks and opportunities in order to achieve operating plans, and make recommendations around the optimal allocation of resources. We are a fast-moving team who gives structure to complicated issues, immerses ourselves in data collection, and delivers impactful insights and recommendations. THE ROLE

This contribution to Eventbrite’s growth and financial management requires a strong Finance partner who is comfortable with, firstly, traditional finance decision-support to a fast-moving organization; and secondly, de novo modeling for all headcount-related expense categories – including summarizing analysis, establishes ranges of outcomes, and guiding senior finance leaders through areas of ambiguity.


- Partner with HR/Recruiting and financial planning teams to plan for all headcount and headcount-related expenses for our global team. Be able to provide in-depth analysis and support decision making.


- Partner with HR, Accounting, and Tax to Forecast all Stock Based Compensation (SBC) related expenses. Be able to prepare concise business variance analysis and analysis support.


- Support company for optimizing headcount and hiring plans for Eventbrite’s business units. Model and frame new opportunities to clearly expose the investment risks and returns so that resources can be effectively deployed within the overall Eventbrite portfolio


- Support the Finance rhythm, including monthly close, monthly /quarterly forecasting, business reviews, and long-range planning


- Maintain a close relationship with HR/Recruiting to understand the key operational drivers of their businesses, and be the authority within Finance for their current performance vs. expectations


- Understand and communicate impact to the overall P&L for the areas that you are responsible for forecasting to the finance leadership team.

THE SKILL SET

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in Finance, with emphasis on headcount resource planning
  • Experience in corporate finance is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with competing deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and analysis
  • Comfortable with pulling information from a range of corporate repositories (finance, accounting, data warehouses, etc.,) and manipulating report outputs into usable forms (SQL, pivot tables)
  • Advanced Excel modeling and analytical skills

  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Experience in a technology publicly traded company
  • Thoughtful planning and strong engagement with key business partners and executives
  • Creative modeling of financial opportunities, ability to impose appropriate framework on nascent business opportunities
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights and Workday accounting
