THE CHALLENGE

We are seeking a Director of Finance to partner with our revenue leaders to provide data and insights needed to run a lean, efficient end-to-end sales organization and help them drive strategic initiatives and operational rigor. Our goal is to provide truth-based, insightful and action-oriented analysis for decision-making at every level. For example, projects can range from setting bookings goals to designing contract approval process.


A successful candidate will be able to partner with Revenue leaders and manage the revenue finance and operations team to help understand the fundamental business drivers and to help optimize performance. It is important that this individual can successfully communicate financial trends and enables decision making using data driven insights.


THE TEAM

The Sales Finance team partners with the CEO, CFO, and senior leadership, to establish near and long-term operating plans, measure performance against these plans, identify risks and opportunities, and support analysis and insights to modify and meet these goals. We are looking to hire data-driven people, who thrive in fast-paced environments and successfully answer ambiguous questions.


THE ROLE

We are seeking a strong Finance leader who is comfortable with finance decision-support to a fast-moving organization, presenting complex ideas and insights, and guiding senior finance and company leaders through areas of ambiguity. You will partner with legal and revenue teams to set-up contract processes and guidelines. This person will be responsible for managing a strong team of financial analysts.



YOU WILL

  • Understand Eventbrite’s market, productivity of revenue teams and bookings drivers for all channels. Drive insightful analysis to support effective decision making and more accurate forecasting. Simplify complex problems and huge data sets, to extract non-obvious insights
  • Partner with Revenue leaders to set strategy for asset deployments and bookings goals. Set process and guidelines for contract approvals differentiating as appropriate by channel.
  • Develop deep understanding of the go-to-market organization and partner with revenue leaders to align business and financial goals. Understand the key operational drivers of bookings for each of Eventbrite’s business channels, and support ongoing analysis and strategic initiatives as well as overall vision for company sales contracts.
  • Understand and communicate impact to overall P&L of the areas that you are responsible for forecasting to the finance and company leadership team. Support the Finance rhythm, including monthly close, monthly and quarterly forecasting and business reviews, and annual and long-range planning
  • Model and frame new opportunities to clearly expose the investment risks and returns so that resources can be effectively deployed within the overall Eventbrite portfolio

THE SKILL SET

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in Finance or Sales operations, with emphasis on planning, deal desk, and/or revenue operations. 
  • Must have strong organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills. 
  • People management experience  with the ability to work and motivate others in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with competing deadlines.
  • Must have excellent critical thinking and prioritization skills. Analytical and creative problem solving skills; solution oriented individual. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and analysis to all levels of the company.
  • Advanced Excel modeling and analytical skills

  • Thoughtful planning and strong engagement with senior level business partners and executives
  • Creative modeling of financial opportunities, ability to impose appropriate framework on nascent business opportunities
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights and Workday accounting
