THE CHALLENGE


We are seeking an experienced and motivated attorney with demonstrated California and federal employment law expertise to join our legal team. The individual will provide legal advice and counsel to our global Human Resources organization and other key internal stakeholders on employment law matters. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing legal team and contribute to Eventbrite’s exceptional culture.

THE ROLE

Eventbrite is seeking a highly engaged attorney with a passion for all things employment to join our legal team, reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Employment. In addition to providing support on employment law issues, in this role you will have the opportunity to partner with all of the lawyers on our team, learning new areas of law and contributing to different parts of the business. We are open to remote locations.

YOU WILL

  • Provide counseling and support to global HR Business Partners and the business on a broad spectrum of employment law issues, including performance management, investigations, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, pay equity, compensation and benefits, contingent workers, and immigration
  • Draft and review employment-related policies, processes, correspondence and agreements 
  • Conduct audits and employment classification reviews, and support other compliance efforts
  • Perform due diligence and advise on employment aspects of M&A projects
  • Develop and conduct training and education programs for employees, managers, and the People team
  • Provide solutions for resolving employment disputes and manage legal risks 

THE SKILL SET

  • Minimum 5 years of employment law experience, including background advising on California employment matters
  • Solid knowledge of employment laws and experience advising on major federal employment laws such as Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA and state equivalents
  • Employment litigation experience
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills 
  • Strength in evaluating risk in light of business and practical considerations and making clear recommendations
  • Strong work ethic and sense of professionalism and discretion, demonstrating accountability, integrity, and respect for confidentiality
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 
  • Trustworthy, optimistic attitude with a willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Commitment to personal growth and development
  • Degree and membership in at least one state bar (preferably California)
