Head of Marketing UKI - Contract

Full-time | London | England | United Kingdom

Eventbrite is one of the largest and most popular event ticketing and registration platforms in the world, hosting more than 2.5 million events each year across the globe.  In the near future, the majority of Eventbrite’s business will come from outside of the United States. The company is currently in a phase of strong international growth, with offices in 11 countries and having powered events in over 180 countries. We have ambitious growth plans across the European region and are looking for a marketing leader to drive this continued growth, for an interim period.

Europe is one of Eventbrite’s fastest growing and most important markets, where every year we empower tens of thousands of event organisers to achieve their goals using Eventbrite’s platform. The marketing teams in the UK and Benelux are responsible for driving continued business growth in the region across all stages of the marketing lifecycle, including brand awareness, customer acquisition and retention, and demand generation.

This will be a maternity cover for 8 months, reporting into the UK Country Director. You’ll be a key part of the region’s leadership team, ensuring continued rapid growth and commercial success.  In this role, you’ll provide leadership to both the London and Benelux marketing teams, and ensuring effective execution of the 2019 strategy.  You’ll also work closely with our international marketing teams based in San Francisco and other Eventbrite markets. We’re looking for a strategic and creative marketing leader, who can lead, inspire, and mentor a team, who thinks commercially, and who is both innovative and data-driven. You’ll be responsible for closely partnering with your team and others throughout the organisation (including London-based Business Development and Account Management teams).

A successful candidate will be a strategic and analytical thinker, who blends deep experience in B2B marketing with creative energy that inspires action.  You keenly understand acquisition marketing and demand generation, and have a strong sense for how to use a range of marketing channels to drive growth throughout the customer acquisition funnel and beyond.  You have led teams before, and are comfortable operating in markets with multiple customer segments and verticals as well as a range of customer value tiers.

You have experience in marketing to both the long-tail of the market as well as up-market, and are versed in the tactics used to communicate in both environments.  You value data and use insights to inform marketing plans, and are able to optimise ROI effectively. You disrupt the status quo and constantly innovate.

This is an office based role in London. May require some travel.

  • Experience in a marketing leadership role, preferably in a technology marketing organisation
  • Balance strong bias towards action and initiative with experience driving alignment amongst multiple internal stakeholders
  • Highly creative with a leaning towards innovative approaches to marketing and problem solving
  • Deep familiarity with content marketing, organic and paid social media, email marketing, consumer marketing, field marketing, PR & influencer marketing and funnel optimisation.
  • Experience marketing in a B2B demand generation funnel, driving MQLs and SQLs
  • With a strongly data-driven approach, you’ll be comfortable using tools like Google Analytics and CRM systems such as Marketo to inform your decision making.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A strong eye for detail and accuracy
  • Commercially focused
  • Flexible, positive attitude, where you’re comfortable working in a fast-changing environment
  • Minimum 2:1 degree from a leading university

  • Experience marketing within a 2 sided marketplace (B2B / consumer)
  • Familiarity with PPC, SEO
  • Experience in public speaking and as a media spokesperson
  • Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events
