Head of Content Policy and Detection

As Head of Content Policy and Detection, You will lead the team that ensures that events on Eventbrite are high quality, compliant and desirable. You will collaborate cross functionally to develop policies, detection strategies and operations that enforce our values as a marketplace.  You will directly impact the quality of the Eventbrite platform and help ensure an outstanding experience for event Creators and consumers. 


  • Drive a broad understanding of content standards risks across the organization, including at the executive level
  • Partner with product, engineering, legal, fraud, policy, customer support and public relations teams to identify risk, and develop comprehensive solutions including policy development and enforcement, improvement of detection and analytics, and guidance of internal and external communications
  • Effectively manage critical and urgent compliance issues including changes in law, and violations of Eventbrite policy or community guidelines
  • Create efficient operations to support consistent enforcement of the policies you create
  • Keep informed on relevant platform law and policy, as well as marketplace and safety best practices and lead initiatives to keep Eventbrite’s practices up to date
  • Engage and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional and external partners.
  • Manage, mentor and develop a team
  • Facilitate long-term initiatives and new strategies, and processes to improve team performance


  • BA/BS degree required
  • 6-8+ years trust & safety, compliance and/or marketplace monitoring experience, including development and enforcement of policies and procedures
  • Proven experience managing and leading teams
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to analyze data, regulatory requirements, product limitations, and the effectiveness of proposed resolutions
  • Collaborative team player with an ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask; flexibility and adaptability in the workplace
  • Demonstrated passion for the work and excitement to jump in
