THE CHALLENGE

Our  developers work day-in and day-out to (i) ensure systems, tracking and processes evolve to meet the high growth demands of the business, (ii) continuously improve the customer lifecycle and journey experience and (iii) ensure the technical stack is fully optimized to maximize return for the business.  You will be joining a high performing team that serves as the backbone for the business and contributes to shaping our technology strategy and delivering profitable business outcomes.  We are looking for someone to join our team that thrives in a fast paced and collaborative environment and loves problem solving and building for scale.


THE ROLE

The Junior Developer is a critical role on the Customer Experience team. This position requires strong application development and communication skills, and is focused on creating and improving the applications and functionality that enable our customer support teams. 


Implement beautiful user interfaces for desktop, mobile and tablet browsers that delight our users and match our brand

Be part of a team that is reinventing how help is accessed (via contact us) and online answers are provided (via Help Center)

Work closely with Product Management, UX, and Design, giving input on what is both intuitive and feasible

Contribute to front end architectural improvements and create shared interactive components that span our service

Work in an environment where we move quickly, are always learning, and enjoy a challenge

Maintain the custom code base with best in class Software Engineering practices on the SFDC and Eventbrite platform. You care about making sure your code is maintainable and well tested.

Own development projects to enhance Web Applications and Services available for multiple users around the world and the Salesforce.com (SFDC) application

Perform minor configuration enhancements on the Force.com application per business requirements

Support and enhance existing applications


THE CORE TECH STACK

Eventbrite’s primary tech stack is Python, Django, and MySQL, all running on AWS, and this is the main sandbox we play in. However, because this team interfaces with many other teams, there’s potential to many other pieces of our broader tech stack (Redis, Cassandra, Kafka, ElasticSearch, etc). Our Salesforce stack also includes: Salesforce (SFDC), Marketo, and Gainsight.

THE SKILL SET

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience in configuring and customizing the Salesforce.com application
  • Experience building applications in a mainstream programming language: Python, PHP, Ruby, C#, C++, Java, etc
  • Experience using some form of web framework: Django, Symphony, Rails, ASP.net, etc.
  • Comfortable using a SQL database: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, etc
  • Experience building user interfaces with Javascript frameworks and libraries like React, Vue, Angular and Aura
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux, shell scripting
  • Understanding of Design Patterns and Software Engineering practices
  • Problem-solving maven adept at quickly dissecting an issue into its component parts and identifying the root cause or opportunity
  • Excellent prioritization skills - ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High energy self-starter with bias for action and sense of urgency to deliver results
  • Interest in being part of a global team (currently Nashville, Cork, and San Francisco)

BONUS POINTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics
  • Understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures
  • Experience working with Agile methodology
  • Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events
