We’re on the hunt for a mid-market Business Development Manager to drive new business for Eventbrite. We’ll challenge you to bring your creative problem solving skills, natural business-development and commercial acumen, self-starter experience and competitive fire to help us win the market. 

You’ll come armed with a deep knowledge of the SaaS, events or ticketing landscape, and will focus your time researching, prioritising, penetrating, and closing opportunities across all verticals. Individual success means driving significant business value for event creators by helping them to sell more paid tickets, increase registrations and commercialisation of their event, through the right Eventbrite solution that helps them grow and succeed. This requires being an adept salesperson, capable of engaging in business and technical conversations at multiple levels of the organisation from the top-down. You’ll need an in-depth understanding of the buyer journey and the ability to lead a complex, multi-pronged sale in a highly consultative manner. In order to be successful, you’ll partner with our regional Business Development, Marketing and Customer Success teams to ensure you have everything you need to be successful.

This role is based either in Eventbrite’s Melbourne HQ, or remotely in Sydney, with your manager and broader team supporting you from Eventbrite’s APAC headquarters in Melbourne. If Sydney based, you’ll be working from a dedicated co-working space. Some travel (domestically and internationally) may be required. 


  • Own the full business development cycle including planning, cold calling, qualifying, obtaining and closing new business opportunities to achieve and exceed your quarterly and yearly targets
  • Meet and exceed established business targets including calls per day, new opportunities generated, closed deals and realised revenue
  • Discover new business opportunities by identifying right-fit target event organisers, prospecting, networking, direct marketing and generating referrals
  • Be an Eventbrite champion; supporting business development and customer success so that our business and brand has a local face and contact on-the-ground, no matter where you’re based
  • Develop expertise in the ticketing industry by identifying trends, market challenges, and competitive offerings within the local market region, and share this information back to the business to ensure we’re delivering a best-in-class product for your market
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
  • Understand the event organiser’s key business initiatives; areas of concern; technology stack, and competitive environment, and pitch how Eventbrite can be applied to deliver value
  • Develop and deliver solution proposals, product demonstration and presentations, customising the content of pitch presentations based on audience, prospect needs, industry dynamics and more
  • Manage the opportunity funnel by analysing and controlling pipeline activity in Salesforce and monitoring key activity against assigned quotas
  • Provide superior and delightful customer service throughout the entire business development process
  • Engage cross functionally with the Marketing, Customer Success, Field Operations Finance, Legal and other stakeholders globally to close your deals and ensure a seamless experience for your customers 
  • Be an exceptional, active and supportive member of the Eventbrite team, both locally, and globally


  • Sales experience with a record of quota over-achievement, preferably in an events, ticketing and / or SaaS environment
  • A strong commercial mindset and demonstrated ability to successfully manage and grow revenue within a position of this level
  • Proficient and demonstrated experience in prospecting, identifying target customers, evaluating buyer interest, recognising decision-making processes, qualifying, creating value-based demonstrations, selling complex solutions, writing proposals, objection handling and negotiating
  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently or at a distance from your team
  • A rare competitive fire and desire to win
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work style
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Experience with Salesforce, PowerPoint, Word, Google Drive and web based presentation technology
  • Agile, ambitious and motivated to be the best at everything you do
