Eventbrite’s APAC team has some pretty grand growth plans. We are Eventbrite’s fastest growing market, powering millions of events every year. We run like a startup, but with a proven, world-class product. As the PR Manager, APAC, you will play a critical role in helping advance Eventbrite’s business in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong. You will report to the US-based Director of Public Relations and partner closely with the APAC General Manager, Head of Marketing, and the broader team to drive awareness, build credibility, and establish trust through various thought leadership and storytelling opportunities. This role is highly cross-functional, and the relationships you build with your colleagues will help set you up for success. 


THE TEAM


Our small, but mighty, Global Communications team is charged with bringing Eventbrite into people’s hearts, minds, and conversations. We are storytellers, press partners and evangelists who take a creative approach to all forms of communications - from external media relations and speaking opportunities, to engaging global employee communication. 


THE ROLE


As PR Manager, you will develop and implement creative, relevant and impactful PR campaigns, craft consistent messaging and create engaging programs to help amplify Eventbrite’s mission of bringing the world together through live experiences. 

YOU WILL

  • Execute a robust news program to ensure a steady drumbeat of press coverage in APAC. You will be responsible for pitching stories to a broad range of media, including business, tech, music, consumer, local and trade press. 
  • Manage day-to-day media enquiries, build relationships with the media, and proactively cultivate and nurture media relationships to ensure Eventbrite is a ‘known quantity’ in our target publications.
  • Manage speaker’s bureau for APAC leaders and touring executives, including identifying key opportunities, overseeing the calendar, creating briefing docs, and drafting presentations as needed. 
  • Collaborate with the global PR team to leverage product and partnership announcements relevant to APAC markets. 
  • Partner closely with the APAC Marketing team to execute a PR strategy in support of building the Eventbrite brand in-market.
  • Draft press releases and manage the distribution of news through all relevant outlets and audiences.
  • Partner with the Director of Employee Communications to ensure the local team remains connected to the global organisation and mission, including providing content for global All Hands meetings, the weekly APAC newsletter and team meetings, and supporting the APAC GM with employee communications on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Be on the front lines of all incoming or reactive press enquiries for APAC with an appropriate sense of urgency and sound judgement.
  • Respond swiftly to potential crises in order to mitigate risk; provide counsel to senior leadership on matters of reputation management. Manage PR agency; monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to amplify our key messaging and highlight our data, creators and content.
  • Produce and maintain the nuts and bolts of communications operations for the APAC markets – including, press lists, press coverage trackers, etc.

THE SKILL SET

  • You’re well-connected, with a media contact network across top-tier tech, business and consumer outlets
  • You have a proven track record in successfully placing stories with solid brand positioning in a wide range of B2C and B2B outlets
  • Background managing and scaling large global press campaigns and initiatives
  • Proactive and always seeking the next PR opportunity — you routinely identify/create opportunities and pitch to appropriate contacts often
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, manage multiple projects at a time, and deliver quality work under pressure
  • Collaborative - this role will work across many functions and geographies, and we need someone who is comfortable department surfing
  • Exceptional communications skills — both written and verbal
  • Know how to leverage data, insights and trends to help you tell a great story
  • Think creatively and collaboratively on how to best engage media
  • Be flexible, adapt to change quickly, and be a change agent for others
  • Deliver solid measured results
  • Experience and comfort working with executives
  • You are self-motivated and understand the art and science of PR
  • You have an understanding of the business and our product
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7-10 years of communications experience

BONUS POINTS

  • A combination of in-house and agency experience is a major plus
  • Experience working in a startup environment, as well as larger, pre- and post-IPO companies
