Recruiting Manager, Executive Search

THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite’s goal of building the marketplace for live experiences relies on our foundation of world-class talent and unbeatable company culture. Hiring top talent in some of the most competitive markets globally is no easy task, but we have a creative and dedicated team who has helped Eventbrite scale to over 700 Britelings in 10 countries over the past 10 years. We’re looking for an experienced Manager of Executive Search to join our Talent Acquisition Leadership Team that connects Eventbrite’s vision, mission and story to inspire, coach and mentor the team. You will evolve Eventbrite’s Executive Search structure and processes, build in-house Executive Search expertise, hiring, developing, and managing the right resources to execute against the global executive hiring strategy you develop for the company, always keeping diversity at the forefront. You will work closely with C-suite Executives, their leadership and admin teams, and the broader HR team (business partners, total rewards, and talent management) to truly understand the Executive Search hiring needs and priorities at both strategic and tactical levels. You have led, mentored, and guided a team of executive recruiters and sourcers through the entire recruiting life cycle while also working closely with leaders to drive a healthy, consultative recruiting culture. You will build strong, respectful internal and external relationships and help elevate Eventbrite’s employment brand to a highly competitive level.

THE ROLE

As a Manager of Executive Search, you are a true coach, leading and developing a team of sourcers and recruiters who will thrive from your guidance, mentorship and career coaching. You bring a strong perspective that inspires change and motivates recruiters to develop simple solutions to complex problems. You mastered the art and science of executive recruiting as an individual contributor and are able to translate your magic and expertise to lead others. You get the true meaning of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility, visible in who you hire for your team and for Eventbrite. You devise specific actions to ensure your team helps Eventbrite hire a more diverse set of leadership talent. You own executive recruiting for Director level and above roles for both technical (Eng, Product, Design) and non-technical (Customers, Finance, Marketing, Communication, HR, and Legal). You bring to life innovative recruiting strategies to support the growing needs of the business. You work with business, Finance, and Talent Acquisition leadership to actively identify and quantify, through workforce planning and tracking, the hiring needs for leadership talent. You are a catalyst for the group’s hiring strategy and road map, and create success metrics with our other recruiting leaders. You keep the business up to date throughout the hiring cycle presenting information in a way that is accurate and usable by your partners. Your view into the talent market ensures that our decisions and strategies around executive search are informed by the best possible information.  

THE SKILL SET

• Experienced: 5+ years of Executive search experience with a deep understanding of each step in the recruitment life cycle (from kickoff and research to negotiation and onboarding) and proven expertise in sourcing and recruiting. You are consultative and comfortable working directly with the C-suite. Your knowledge of how to go to market for both technical and nontechnical executive talent is informed by progressive best practices for engaging passive talent. 2+ years of people management experience as a Recruiting Lead/Manager, with the drive and willingness to engage, coach and collaborate with individuals at all levels. You’re comfortable personally conducting executive searches while guiding a growing team. You’ve demonstrated responsible use of external partner agencies when warranted, actively project managing and auditing suppliers to ensure hiring outcomes, diverse talent slates, and cost effectiveness.
• Results Oriented: You have a proven track record of your team’s identifying, attracting, and hiring diverse leaders for key leadership positions focused on transformation and growth of company internationally.. You effectively balance growth and development of your team with team performance so that the team maintains a highly engaged and connected culture.
• Strategic: You have an ability to build effective recruiting strategies that contribute to the company’s hiring goals and ensure a healthy pipeline and access to diverse leadership talent. You rely on data to drive decision making and stakeholder management. You connect business hiring priorities to company growth goals ensuring we hire with both the short term and long term in mind. You actively nurture executive pipelines and partner organizations to increase brand visibility and build niche talent pools.
• Innovative: You regularly think outside the box and have an arsenal of ideas on how to best engage and bring together diverse leadership talent, hiring managers, and the opportunity. You will develop creative solutions to problems while proactively ensuring teams are productive. You cultivate psychological safety and empower your teams to challenge the status quo in order to discover new techniques and efficiencies.
• Interpersonal communications skills: This role will require a lot of listening and communicating with the team and stakeholders at various levels in the organization to bring everyone along on the journey. The ability to authentically communicate (written and verbally) in a succinct way that ensures clarity and shared goals is essential. Provide consistent candidate engagement to manage expectations, discuss status of candidacy, and cultivate long-term relationships.
• Influential: You’re a trusted subject matter expert who effectively collaborates and influences across internal stakeholders using data and insights to ensure hiring goals are met and prioritize peripheral work appropriately to enable hiring. You have an innate ability to build strong partnerships with leaders at all levels of the organization to enable shared accountability to solve complex problems when necessary.
• Flexible: You have experience growing teams from good to great and will jump in personally to do the work when a player coach is needed. You have experience with an organization that has undergone significant growth, change, and/or international expansion. You’re agile and evolve recruiting tactics as needed to proactively match changing market dynamics.
• Delightful: As an ambassador of Eventbrite, you will amplify our core values and build employee connections. You’ll keep our people (hiring managers, your team, internal stakeholders) informed and engaged, while driving the best experiences for committed and potential candidates, external agencies, and partner diversity-promoting organizations.
