THE CHALLENGE
Eventbrite is a rapidly growing company and there are exciting things going on behind the finance curtain. Now more than ever, financial reporting and technical accounting are at the forefront and we are looking to expand our team as the business grows and becomes more complex and dynamic. This person will be a crucial player in the accounting organization and help us achieve the objectives related to SEC compliance and financial reporting as we aim to become a public company. Our goal is to provide oversight, guidance and comfort when it comes to financial reporting.
THE TEAM
The financial reporting team is a subset of the accounting team and is responsible for all things technical accounting and financial reporting (and eventually SEC reporting!). We maintain the Company’s accounting policies and ensure we are reporting in accordance with US GAAP and SEC standards. We work closely with internal and external stakeholders across the business and are looking to expand our team as we become a world-class public company finance organization.
THE ROLE
You will be a key player on the financial reporting team and responsible for helping buildout and scaling the reporting framework required by a public company. As Eventbrite takes on exciting new financial endeavors and non-standard transactions, you will be responsible for assessing the accounting impact of such events and documenting conclusions in technical memos (think business combinations, complex customer arrangements, equity/debt accounting, etc.). You will assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, both internally and externally. When the FASB issues new accounting guidance, you will be responsible for assessing the impact on the business and working cross-functionally to address these new or updated accounting standards. This will be a very broad role in terms of accounting and financial reporting, and have high-visibility with the CFO and corporate controller.
