Senior Data Journalist - Anthropological Research Group

Full-time | Vancouver | British Columbia | Canada

THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite is looking for a Senior Data Journalist to join its Anthropological Research Group. Our business is rapidly expanding - new event categories, new international markets, and new products beyond our current core ticketing and event management offerings. It is more critical than ever that we deepen our understanding of a broad scope of event-related human behaviors and their socioeconomic and cultural contexts. This key role will apply quantitative methods to study these types of big picture research questions. They'll collaborate with qualitative-methods-focused teammates to produce and communicate strategic insights using narrative and visualizations for maximum impact.

THE TEAM

The newly formed Anthropological Research Group exists to explore the rich array of human diversity and events phenomena upon which Eventbrite’s business is built using social science and humanities research methods and theoretical frameworks. As a small cross-functional team, we work collaboratively on projects to generate insights by synthesizing data of various types and from a variety of sources - ethnographic fieldwork, demographic/geospatial datasets, extensive literature review, and past and current research from other parts of the Eventbrite organization and from external institutions. For a quick intro on the growing trend of Anthropologists in Business see here.
