THE TEAM

As the leader of the HRBP function supporting the technical organization, you will support the CTO and CPO, in all things people, as they lead the evolution of their functions. You will lead an HRBP function with globally distributed staff.

 

THE ROLE & IMPACT

The nature of Eventbrite’s ambitious mission calls for a world class organization of high performing technical talent. Behind that technical talent is an HRBP function that supports those teams as they up-level, navigate transformation, and change. It’s vital to show up as “one voice” to the technical organization which means tight coordination and collaboration with various COE teams as you both launch, and support, new talent initiatives. If successful, this individual will be widely respected as the person leading the people strategy for the technical organization and be viewed as a role model of collaboration, communication, and problem solving! 

 

The Sr. Director, HRBP will be based in the USA and report into the Chief Human Resources Officer. 

 

THE ROLE

The ideal candidate will bring the right balance of collaboration, influence, and expert leadership - making people feel heard, but also biasing toward action and impact, by urgently positioning their team for success and developing people strategies that help achieve long-term transformation.


As with all matrixed organizations, collaboration is key. Eventbrite is looking for someone who is passionate about delivering business impact and someone who truly understands the strategic value HR has in delivering a business unit’s key objectives.

Co-develop transformational people strategies (in partnership with CTO, CPO, and COEs) and lead the cross-functional efforts to execute on those

Drive world-class approaches to performance management, talent calibrations and pay cycles that help up-level the org

Drive leadership development plans with the CTO and CPO that help up-level the bench of the technical leadership teams

SKILL SET & EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of HR experience with dynamic, challenging responsibilities as a strategic partner working with globally distributed teams 
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing HRBP teams
  • A history of partnering well with senior leadership teams and partners to develop a culture of innovation, excellence, and openness; abilities and ideas that build and improve the culture
  • Critical thinking and data analysis skills with success in working cross-functionally to implement solutions to business issues
  • The ability to work effectively in a constantly evolving environment
  • Ability to run multiple complex challenges and prioritize projects
  • Strong partner alignment and management skills in a highly matrixed organization
  • Ideally, you will have worked with large client groups within a fast-growing company and engineering environment
  • Ability and willingness to work at all levels of the HR “stack” – strategic, operational, and tactical
  • Dynamic and disciplined thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for making a mark in a fast-paced, growing environment
  • Natural leader and engaged team player with strong interpersonal capabilities; ability to maintain a positive culture
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills at all levels, able to advocate and obtain necessary buy-in for programs, can set up scalable processes/programs
  • Inspires a culture of innovation, execution, collaboration, accountability, and positivity
  • Strong work ethic and passion around the People and Talent function
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and business acumen
