Senior Frontend Software Engineer - Risk & Fraud

Full-time | Vancouver | British Columbia | Canada

Eventbrite powers millions of live events every year, and provide a safe and trusted platform for creators to host awesome events and attendees to have meaningful experiences.

At Eventbrite, we have a people-focused engineering organization: working together in small teams to solve big problems, supporting an active culture of mentorship and inclusion, and committing ourselves to learn new things daily. Whether it's pair programming, weekly demos, or techs talk, collaboration is at the core of how we build software. Check out some of our open source initiatives Britecharts and PySOA, and our frontend blog posts.

The Risk & Fraud team builds and maintains services and tools for a number of business-critical functions including protecting event creators and attendees from financial loss, unsavory user-generated content, marketplace collusion, account takeover and other types of malicious behavior. As senior frontend engineer on Risk and Fraud team, you will meaningfully impact the experience of millions of event-goers, keeping them safe from malicious activity. You'll collaborate with product, designers, and other business stakeholders to design and implement delightful, friction-free user interfaces. You'll build functional tools that allow events to be run smoothly. You'll mentor other engineers and contribute to a robust learning culture. You'll be proactive, curious and accessible.

The Eventbrite platform is built on top of a service-oriented-architecture running python in AWS. Our frontend application are built using React, with a beautiful Eventbrite Design System to manage styling. For datastores, we lean heavily on MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis. We use Kafka for large-scale data pipelining, and scikit-learn for machine learning.
