Software Engineer II- Creator Productivity Tools

Full-time | Nashville | Tennessee | United States

Eventbrite’s mission is to bring the world together through live experiences. Our technology platform enables event creators around the globe to seamlessly plan, promote, and produce live events, and it empowers event goers to find and attend events that create life-long memories. Behind the platform are our product and engineering teams, working together to solve the many challenges associated with enabling live experiences.

Creator Productivity Tools is a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and engineers. We use data and research to understand the needs of our most frequent event creators and to deliver features that increase their productivity. We learn from each other as we go, meeting daily to share progress and identify impediments, honing our skills through code reviews, performing demos of the code we ship, and iterating to improve the way we work.

As part of the broader Eventbrite Engineering team, we share our learnings on our Engineering Blog and regularly host free events for the Nashville technology community in our office, located between the Gulch and Downtown. You can learn more about being part of the Nashville team from some of our engineers.

As a backend-focused engineer on the team, you’ll partner with your product, design, and frontend engineering teammates to deliver new features and product improvements to our event creators. The improvements you make could take many forms, including API enhancements and bug fixes, as well as technically driven work to improve performance, security, and stability.

Eventbrite’s primary tech stack is Python, Django, JavaScript, React, independent services (SOA), and MySQL, all running in AWS. Most of the team’s work happens in the primary stack. Some of the tools you might come across in the broader Eventbrite stack include Redis, Cassandra, Hbase, Hive, and Elasticsearch.
