THE CHALLENGE
At Eventbrite, our mission is to empower people through live experiences. Our business continues to grow and scale rapidly, powering millions of events. With so many choices of events to attend, it is essential that we provide our event creators with a way to promote their events to both new and existing attendees.
Eventbrite is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to assist our Marketing Tools team in developing a suite of tools to help our event creators promote their events successfully. In this role you will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge social marketing solutions by building on Eventbrite’s existing data infrastructure and integrations with multiple third-party APIs.
THE TEAM
You will join a team that recently became part of Eventbrite via the acquisition of ToneDen, an event marketing technology startup. Our technology helps creators inside and outside of Eventbrite promote their events and content via social media advertising.
Within Eventbrite we continue to operate like a startup – we are an empowered, close-knit team that loves to build quickly, interface directly with hundreds of thousands of active creators on our platform, and ship awesome tools that solve Eventbrite creators’ most pressing marketing challenges.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a creative problem solver and effective communicator to join the Marketing Automation team within Eventbrite. We're looking for an experienced, senior engineer who is excited to work with cutting-edge technology and build on a diverse set of internal and 3rd-party APIs to create novel social marketing solutions.
You will work closely with PMs and engineering management to help define the product and architectural vision for the team. You will be expected to analyze our large-scale marketing campaign dataset, and use this knowledge to drive product and engineering decisions. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams within Eventbrite to plan marketing features across the platform.
THE TECH STACK
The Marketing Tools team’s primary product –ToneDen’s marketing automation software– runs on a Node.js/Express backend, with React and Flux on the frontend. You will also have the opportunity to integrate with Eventbrite’s core systems and interfaces, which are built with Django on the backend, and React and Redux on the frontend. We are hosted entirely on AWS, with MySQL and PostgreSQL as the standard database technologies.
The ToneDen product interfaces with many external APIs to pull in data for audience building purposes and to create campaigns on various advertising platforms. It relies heavily on the Facebook Marketing and Google Ads APIs in particular to create and update campaigns and retrieve campaign performance data.
