THE CHALLENGE

The Eventbrite Platform, one of the key differentiators of our business, enables partners and developers to integrate with Eventbrite’s data and services to provide new functionality to our users, helping Eventbrite’s business to scale and serve our global market. With over 10K developers and over 170 partners, Eventbrite is the leading event technology platform, enabling partners to build successful businesses while serving our users across a variety of categories. Our team is responsible for designing and building a platform that accelerates our business while building relationships and launching the next generation of platform partners to deliver innovative capabilities for our users.


THE TEAM

You’ll be joining an experienced team of talented Product Managers, Engineers, Business Developers, and Marketers to focus on building our platform by deeply understanding our customers, partners, and business needs. You will be integral in creating an experience that is delightful and easy-to-use by both developers and partners and fueling the growth of the Eventbrite Platform.


THE ROLE

You will make the Eventbrite Platform easier to use and integrate by creating useful content for developers and everyday users. You will translate the capabilities of the Eventbrite Platform into easy-to-understand technical documentation and developer guides and will be essential in helping developers understand the power of the Eventbrite Platform and how developers can ‘build the future of live experiences’ via Eventbrite.  


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize and inform the information architecture of Eventbrite’s developer documentation
  • Describe the key benefits and major use cases addressed by the Eventbrite Platform, catering to both our developers and a non-technical audience
  • Document new products, features, and APIs for external developers
  • Document standards, guidelines, and best practices for engineers
  • Work with internal teams to define and implement documentation best practices

THE SKILL SET

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about platforms, with strong technical level understanding of APIs and platform development
  • Proficient in writing software documentation
  • Adept at communicating technical concepts clearly and precisely
  • Able to quickly iterate and improve; passion to learn and teach others
  • Self-starter with proven track record of execution and results
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate, influence and work as part of a team
  • Proficient in HTML and Markdown
  • Conversant with Git

BONUS POINTS

  • Passion for live events, frequently attending events and buying tickets online
  • Experience writing about Ruby or another backend language like Go, Python, PHP, Node, or Java
  • Experience creating automated documentation tools, and familiar with documentation tools like Apiary, Swagger UI, ReadMe.io, Slate, etc.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms specifically
  • Experience doing developers relations
