THE CHALLENGE

Eventbrite is disrupting a huge industry in desperate need of a shakeup, and our M&A activities are critical to achieving our ambitious global growth plans.  A 2015 Deloitte post-merger integration survey of 800+ executives reported that ~30% said these deals fell short of meeting expectations.  This, despite ~74% of respondents having formal integration strategies which they believed aligned with the overall strategy and goals of the transactions.  Want to help us stay on the right side of that statistic?  


THE TEAM

The Integration team is responsible for setting up our M&A deals to be successful, during and beyond the integration period. Once target companies have been identified, we partner with Corporate Strategy on diligence, and post-diligence everything from charting how we’ll combine operations, to seeing to it that the integration meets timelines and performance targets, to educating our transitioning employees about Eventbrite and vice-versa. Our work is done when there is no sense of two separate companies.


THE ROLE

Our M&A Integration Manager will help run global M&A projects, post-diligence. You’ll be the connective tissue joining the two business together, acting as a consultant, facilitator, communicator, coach and bridge builder. To succeed in this role, you must be a fantastic, emotionally and culturally intelligent cross-functional project manager with skills and knowledge across many business functions and a creative, entrepreneurial spirit - hands on, tenacious and unfazed by ambiguity and a myriad of details. You can be based in San Francisco, Amsterdam, Nashville, Cork or London, but a fair bit of international and/or local travel is expected.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • During diligence, understand target's business and vision for the combined business
  • Prepare and implement integration plans, ensuring that non-negotiable items are implemented
  • Communicate project priority and set task priority for integration team and stakeholders
  • Work with relevant managers to align staff and other resources to integration plans
  • Ensure goals and timelines for each integration project are met
  • Track and communicate appropriate performance measurements with team/stakeholders
  • Ensure that information shared between teams is relevant, accurate and complete
  • Assist in identifying and reducing cultural barriers Facilitate effective hand-offs to close out integration projects, including appropriate documentation
  • Contribute to the improvement of Eventbrite’s integration processes and best practices

THE SKILL SET

  • 8-10 years cross-functional global projects experience with a US based international technology company.
  • Experience working in a similar role or a background in M&A and/or Integrations is a bonus
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into tactical operating plans
  • A self-starter, with the ability to work effectively within a rapidly changing, fast moving organization
  • Able to proactively identify and communicate risks and opportunities
  • Expert at influencing without direct authority
  • Exceptional project-management skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Skilled and knowledgeable in multiple organizational functions, e.g. commercial, product, people
  • Proven ability to consult and partner with functional leaders to make effective decisions
  • Flexible approach to shifting priorities on multiple tasks, without losing the big picture or details
  • BA/BS preferred, MBA or advanced business degree is a bonus
  • Prior experience with ticketing platforms or the ticketing industry a plus
